Strive to be Happy!
This is is a good little story:It was the coldest winter in anyone’s memory, and one animal after another perished in the icy weather. The porcupines saw this and decided the only way they would survive is if they grouped together to share their warmth. Only trouble was, the quills of one porcupine wounded the one next to it, and that one hurt the one next to it, and so on and so on. They stayed warm, all right, but the pain they suffered was just too great. After awhile they edged away to shiver alone. But one by one, they froze to death.
Even porcupines could see that was never going to do. The only way to keep from disappearing from the earth was to move back together and put up with their neighbors’ painful quills. And that’s what they did.
So the porcupines learned to live with the little wounds caused by close relationships between companions. Even more important, they learned the gift of life giving heat that comes from being together.
The moral of the story:
The best relationship is not the one that brings perfect people together. It's when each individual learns to live with the imperfections of othersand appreciate the other person’s good qualities.

My family seems to be better at accepting shivering and dying alone. I think we have to hope to find the people who will keep us warm without wounding us too deeply, and those are the ones we huddle with. If we are so unfortunate as to not find those people then truly, our life is at an end.
Cute little hedgehog! If I were one of those porcupines, I might get a pair of scissors and do a bit of clipping on my neighbors!
Nice moral to the story, but I felt bad for the porcupines having to be pricked at all, especially over and over.
Words to live by and we're lucky to have a lot of practice with the imperfections of xanga 2.0
That's a cute little niblet.

Sorry about the double post it happened by accident.
"we’re lucky to have a lot of practice with the imperfections of xanga 2.0"
"Sorry about the double post"
HAHAHA - too ironic.
that is so sweet! I like it.
I have a family and I'm really closer to my friends just because they seem to like me and my family act like they do.
At least their are 7 siblings to pick from.
That is a lovely story and analogy.
RYC: thank you very much for the kind comment on "My Days". I liked that photo too. I was aimlessly driving around and saw that cloud as it parted to let some sunshine on us. Had to take a picture.
That little baby porcupine is absolutely precious!
And that is an excellent story.
We had a hedgehog for a pet for a while. He was a really interesting critter.
Very cute creature.
That is a good one and hard to learn. My MIL and Auntie drove my dear wife crazy to the point she went out of town often to escape them because they did not do that to me.
Love this story and moral!!!
Wow!!! So true!!!
And the little porky-pine is cute!
HUGS!!!
