I have Miss Manners' book and an old one from the 1920s that talks about the proper stationary and how to address your maid! It is a fun read!
my 4 yrs old needs it.
I love to read books like that. I never miss the columns about proper manners in the news papers.
Ha! Whoopi is funny so I imagine she is teaching manners in a fun way!

It is gratifying to show respect to people through showing good manners.
Here in the south there is such thing as called a Catillian, where the highschool students attend manner classes. Up north, if they had them, my parents didn't utilize them. Father was the one to teach us to sit straight, no elbows on the table, which fork to use, etc.
Whoopie is a funny lady. Did you know she has no eyebrows?
-There is a difference between having good manners and be mannered( not good )

-this man is all in manners ( not good either )
- We say also in French there are the art and the manner( yes of course
-or again the manner used to give is better than what we give ( yes, this is biblical )
As you see ,Marsha, there are a thousand and one manner to use the word manner and why not a book!:-)

My niece could use one of those books. Her kids are too old to be as rude as they are. But, I dont' have kids so what do I know?
I like the Miss Manners type columns, too. It's nice to know the right way to do things---just in case I want to do something the right way!
