We have cardinals, cactus wrens, mourning doves, Western golden finches and the ubiquitous ravens, in my back yard.
Have a great day, Marcia!
What fun!
I love bird watching!
Oh, I love the finches...especially the purple ones!
Happy Valentine's Day! Valentine's day is for birds, too!
YAY!
I love the unique heart finds you pictured.
Have fun with the birds. I enjoy the birds in my area too, but extra busy this weekend to sit and just watch for them.
My mother in law used to do this but now that they are in AZ for the winter I don't know if she is still doing it. The heart lock is lovely!!
that is a neat cloud and key hole. LOL
I saw two red breasted robins and also a red cardinal.
Happy Valentine's Day to you too!
It was a sad day here for birds.
My daughter was trying to identify a little bird with a yellow belly, or underbreast, that she saw dead near my front door today. No idea what killed it. She moved it to a better resting place.
I have some crows too! The trouble around here is, if I feed the birds, the cats stalk them! I don't know how to solve that problem.
Stupid cats. I feed them too. It's not like they need the extra feathers in their caps! Grrrr!
Love the Valentines Key Hole! Hope your day was sweet too!
I wish I knew when you write. Used to be I'd get an email.
I have no knowledge of different birds and could only count grackles, pigeons, doves, cardinals. Oh and house finches. That is what actually comes to my yard.
I love the heart cloud... yesterday I wasn't worth talking to, but I'll say happy valentine's day today!! <3<3 I'm so glad you're here.
So far I have only seen black caped chickadees and robins. Lots and lots of robins. Oh and sparrows too. Not sure if they are fox sparrows or not.
I believe I missed to wish you a happy Valentine 's Day , Maesha I do it a bit a bit late .
The birds bear our dreams, symbols and feelings.. But in our area the intensive culture in the fields makes numerous species go away and not only for the birds but also bees and others insects .
If you want to meet an ornithogkst on xanga go at fwren and scrom down her page . I always am amazed when I vistit there .

RYC - Are we in Florida yet?
Lovely post. We have a similar event here in Israel, timed with the spring migrations.
My own amateur bird-count bumps up a couple new ones each month. I'm strict though, and only list species which actually alight on my 20 acres. Plus many of them have only the Hebrew name, and I have to do Google cartwheels to find out what Lineaus called 'em.
Good (photographic) hunting!
