Clothes Lines Hung with Laundry in the Slums of Chicago Photographic Print by Gordon Coster

I want a clothes line!!! My hubby thinks they are in bad taste, I think....you know airing your laundry in public or something like that.  There's just nothing like clothes dried in the sunshine....I want a big ole sun bonnet like my Mammaw had and an apron to hold the clothes pins.

Kitten on a Clothes Line Art Print by Erik Parbst

If I hang in there long enough maybe I'll change his mind!

American Money Hanging on Clothes Line Photographic Print

"Honey - think of all the money we would save!"

and how cooler the house would be!

It's Monday

That's all I have

clothes, sheets and towels on the line are art. sheer art. pure and simple. there is nothing more beautiful and welcoming than spying sheets snapping in the breeze from the corner of the house. folk art as it's best.
hang in there. :goodjob:

I loves our clothes line too... the n ly thing I didn't like being dried on it was our towels... the line wasn't in the bst place to catch a breze and the towels were always hard and scratchy afterwords!

It was always good taste to put your unmentionables on the inside lines so that the neighbors could not see them all!!! I think when the breeze picked up everyone saw what they were not to see!!!

Hang in there and keep on trying!!!

I haven't had a clothes line since 1976, and I still miss the smell of sheets dried on the line.

I'll have to post a video of Rascal the dog that we have. The clothes wouldn't stand a chance in the back yard with Rascal back there, and I can hear all the neighbors now complaining if we hung our laundry in the front yard...heck what am I saying, it would be stolen, living here in Memphis!

i never thought of that before - clothesline as a form of art... but about one scene in Pearl Harbor makes me agree... :)

My oldest daughter has moved into my Mothers home...since Mom passed away...and she is using the clothes line. They have a precious new baby so there are ALWAYS diapers and cute little baby clothes flapping in the breeze....I agree...a work of art!!!

We live in the country so my laundry is hidden from view (mostly). I enjoy hanging out my laundry and find I can finish dirty laundry much faster and cheaper this way. Blankets and sheets are among my favorite! 90% drys outside during the summer, I even wait for sunny days to do my loads....

Well as they alwasy say in oaters, 'somebody get a rope'

Do you have a couple of well placed trees?  Would he have a snit if you went to the hardware store and just bought some rope and strung that sucker up? Does he wear polka dotted briefs? Why don't I have one?  So many questions,

@angi1972 -

after they are dried you take the towels and put them in the dryer on the air dry setting and
fluff' them. I do that with my sheets too :)

The one problem with clothes lines - I hate it when my clothes are almost dry and it starts raining. :D

I love the pics you had posted.  Thanks, yes, I could

use the prayers, right now.  My hubby's been on chemo

so that's why, this is rough.  He's supposed to get a bone

marrow transfusion in the future. I have two blogs, when

life is normal. lol.   Hugs, R. Hood/Sunsetheart

Mama! we USED to have a clothes line, but i dont think you liked it as much then :)
I remember when Sarah and I used to have to get the clothes off, and we would put them on the trampoline to fold them...you used to scold us for not folding the towels 'properly'! haha. Lesson learned though, because i always fold my towels just the way you taught us. I LOVED that clothes line. When we were in Austria the family we stayed with had a clothes line and it was delightful.
In daddys defense though, didnt you just get a new dryer? And in your defense, who will see the clothes? Since the Harbins have that fence... the UPS and AlumnaPanel drivers?
i love you mom!
