  • Tish

Barry called me at work at about quarter after 12

He said that my little dog Tish wasn't doing very good

she'd not been doing well for a couple of weeks

but she'd been getting up, although she needed assistance once in awhile, eating

    and drinking water

     apparently she'd gotten overheated

or maybe she'd had a stroke, I don't really know

when I got home Barry had her in the shower to try and cool her off

I spoke to her and she moved a little

    I petted her head

    and she passed away

    at 12:30

    I'm so very sad

which is stupid because she would have been 18 the day before thanksgiving

that's a long time for a dog to live

and she had a great life

    RIP TISH A ROONEY

  • Oh that is sad.
I didn't want to read the whole thing, because I get very emotional.

But a big hug to you.

  • My condolences. One of the worst things in the world, to lose a pet. RIP Tish.

  • The worst thing about being a veterinarian, I decided, was having to deal with so many older pets dying. I often would help my dad at the animal hospital and I always hated it when someone's beloved pat had to be put to sleep because it was suffering. You have my deepest heartfelt sympathies. May God bless you with many fond memories.

  • Aw. I'm sitting here crying. I'm so so SO sorry for your great loss. Losing a furry friend is so sad.
I'm so glad you had Tish in your life for so long...enjoy the memories of her!
    May Tish rest in peace.
    HUGS!!!

  • I'm so sorry. That's a hard one, I know. I love you.

  • :heartbeat: love and hugs Marsha. I am so sorry at this loss of your dear pet. I can just imagine how upset you must be. But how sweet that she waited till you returned home and talked to her before she breathed her last breath.

  • It is not silly or stupid or crazy to feel extreme sadness or grief when a pet dies - especially one that has been part of your life for 18 years! You need to give yourself permission to cry and mourn the passing. Tish died surrounded by her people and that was no doubt a comfort to her. You have my deepest sympathies.

  • im so sorry for your loss. my eyes actually started to water. losing a pet is so hard. but remember that tish is always with you now, watching over you. :) ::hugs::

  • Sorry for you loss. Nothing we can do but cry and be sad when loosing a loved pet. Eighteen is a good time for a dog, but the day of going away is always a horrible moment.

  • Trish expected to have a last caress before going on the other side
It is really moving .In had a dog in the past . Too painful when they die.
